Puget-Théniers, 3 km from the naturist village in France, offers you the sweetness of these villages of Haute Provence. Its squares, its narrow streets and its train station with its steam train smell of Provence. The village was built century after century, leaving here and there the vestiges of a beautiful history: old houses with loggias, houses with barns, engraved lintels, bust of Papon (Provencal historian), house of Blanqui, statue of Maillol, reveal the asserted character of a village of our country. These terraces and shops will give you the opportunity to meet people and enjoy a taste of the passing of time.
For hiking enthusiasts, there are many circuits in the Mercantour National Park. Of various levels of difficulty, they allow for a good family walk (about 2 hours) or a more sportive hike. The landscapes, the fauna and the flora are everywhere omnipresent by their richness, and will be the occasion of discoveries rich in emotions and sharing.
Nature has taken centuries to dig the magnificent gorges of red pelites known today beyond our borders. The gorges of Daluis, with the evocative nickname “Colorado niçois” is only 20 km from l’Origan. This tourist site, classified as a nature reserve, is the place to be for a holidaymaker. It is crossed by the mythical road of the “Grandes Alpes”.
The Daluis gorges, which begin at the Gueydan bridge and end at Guillaumes, were dug in the red, wine-coloured pelites. This ochre is due to the oxidation of the iron they contain.
Following the road, which often uses tunnels (17) dug in the rock, you will notice a curious rock, a woman’s head, which stands as the guardian of the gorges. This road is the old tramway track linking Guillaumes to the Gueydan bridge, and the “Bridge of the Bride” .
The views from the Daluis gorges are sublime with its 300 meters deep canyon and its river Var which has its source in the Mercantour. This river is a Mecca for rafting and kayaking. The wild and magical scenery will dazzle you! Finally, the “Point Sublime” path, marked out, will lead you to a high point without difficulty. By car, bicycle or on foot, you will always find a way to contemplate this treasure.
In Cannes, life is a festival. A star city, it is famous throughout the world for its major trade fairs and its many events, the most important of which is the International Film Festival. Its bay with the Lérins islands, the prestigious Croisette promenade, its palaces, its old town “Le suquet” with its delicious Provencal accents make it an exceptional destination.
An hour from l’Origan, you can discover this village which has a very special history due to the many artists who have frequented it. It was the meeting place of celebrities.
Today the art galleries of painters make its world reputation. As you walk through the cobbled streets, you will be seduced by a village that has remained authentic but is also forward-looking. Its view of the mountains and the Mediterranean make it a place to visit.
Sea lions, dolphins and polar bears have made Marineland and its water park a must-see for parents and children. These parks are constantly renewed and improved and are a continuous spectacle.
